THERE ARE MANY PROCEDURES THAT REQUIRE DIFFERENT HEALING INSTRUCTIONS

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY TO CARE FOR YOUR PARTICULAR PROCEDURE PROPERLY

Newly tattooed permanent cosmetic procedures are delicate and need special care.  The guidelines below may seem extreme, but remember, we are trying to get the skin to heal around the pigment.

Your job over the next few weeks is to make sure as much pigment as possible stays in so the skin can heal around it!

The skin’s first response will be to close up the area to prevent germs and viruses from entering. (crusting or scabbing).  Our bodies are extremely intelligent and work night and day to protect us!

During this time, the pigment is drawn deeper away from the surface until the skin heals.  Once the crusting falls away, the pigment may seem to have vanished or "disappeared" in spots-

THIS IS NORMAL!!!  Between healing weeks 3 and 4, color will push to the surface and bloom so you will see it again!

MOST IMPORTANT:
FAILURE TO FOLLOW AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN INFECTIONS,PIGMENT LOSS, BLURRING OR DISCOLORATION

Directly after Procedure:
Gently blot the area with clean tissue to absorb excess lymph fluid if the area is feeling “wet”. Do this until you can get home & wash the treated area for the first time, typically about an hour or two after the procedure. Removing this fluid prevents hardening of the lymph before you are able to begin the following steps (wash + moisturize) below.

IT’S EASY! ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS:

CLEANSE-RINSE-DRY-APPLY!

Basically all you need to do is 1-2 hours after treatment, you will cleanse them with a gentle cleanser, rinse well, pat-dry with paper towel, then apply a very THIN layer of Aquaphor ointment.

You will do this 2 X’s a day for about 5-7 days, am/pm.

Days 1-5: Wash & Keep Clean
Wash 2x’s daily to remove bacteria and dead skin. (Don’t worry…THIS DOES NOT REMOVE THE PIGMENT!) Gently wash your the treated area each morning and night with water and a gentle cleanser, such as Cetaphil, Cereve, Baby soap etc. Anything that is gentle cleanser will not irritate the skin. With a very light touch, use your clean fingertips to gently cleanse the area tattooed, then rinse with water, ensuring that all soap is rinsed away. To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue. DO NOT use any cleansers containing acids (glycolic, salicylic, lactic, AHA/BHA) or any exfoliators during healing process or anytime after healing atop the treated area. **Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is OK. after healing**

Days 1-5: After Cleansing, Moisturize
After cleansing, apply a rice grain amount of Aquaphor ointment with a clean cotton swab or clean finger tips and spread it across the treated area. Be sure not to apply too much, as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin. Never put the ointment on a wet or damp tattoo. Always use the cleanser and aftercare ointment duo together.

"How do I shower?! How do I wash my hair?!?" ------- Simple. Take a shower before your appointment and try to avoid it for the next day. If you need to wash your hair, dry shampoo and pony tails are your best friend! Or go treat yourself to a blowout at the salon.

Please, NEVER RUSH THE HEALING PROCESS!! If you have any events, vacations, or special occasions coming up around the time of your appointment, its always best to schedule within a certain time frame to allow healing. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.

*Do not scrub, rub, itch or pick the epithelial crust that forms.  Allow it to gently flake off by itself.  If it is removed before it is entirely healed, the pigment may be pulled out. We don't want ink prematurely pulled out.

*Do not get the brows soaking wet during the 10 day healing process. This means do not swim, soak, or anything else where the treated area will stay wet longer than 5 min. A quick washing is necessary as explained in Aftercare and totally fine!

*Do not put any lotion, makeup, foundation , concealer etc. until all scabbing has fallen away from treated area.

*Do not sweat for 7-10 days!  This is very important because sweat contains salt, and salt is what we use to remove ink. Sweat also carries bacteria, and bacteria entering an open wound is not good! Body heat expands the pores and all of this can cause the pigment to fade, blur or not take at all.

*Please do not garden, go to the gym or anyplace else that is not very clean- you basically have an open skin wound and do not want to chance infection.  When out in public be mindful to not ever touch or scratch your healing brows with unwashed fingers.

*Stay out of the sun for at least two weeks!  After brows heal, use a sunblock/UV Ray protectant to prevent premature fading. Wear a hat. This includes Tanning Beds.

*Do NOT use any active skin treatments like Retin-A, Glycolic or any “acid” or exfoliating anti aging product on or around your eyebrows....FOREVER. This will cause them to fade faster and possibly change colors.

*Try not to sleep on your face for the first 10 days while healing, a freshly washed pillow case is always a good idea as well.

*Slight redness or swelling is normal, angry or hot redness is not, you must call your doctor!!

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your treated area will appear darker and bolder due to scabbing and healing for the first 7-10 days, or until all the scabbing has flaked away.
Once healed, treated area may lighten up to 50%!

Don’t panic, this is part of the healing process and many times the skin pushes it back to the surface in two to three weeks and you will see the treated area brighten up again..

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Day 1:  Treated area will appear slightly thicker than we drew them and sometimes may appear uneven because it may be swollen; color looks darker and warmer due to the redness of the skin.

Days 2-4:  Treated area is darker than what you've expected, and about 2 shades darker than what they will actually be once healed. Some redness may still persist on some clients.

Days 6-10:  Treated area normally starts peeling around day 5-6. Some clients slightly peel, while others may experience some scabbing. Once flaking starts, some areas will fade more than others and as the pigment settles under the skin it will start to darken up again over a 3-4-week period.

Days 28-40:  At this time, you'll actually start seeing the final result. People that heal quickly and younger clients can see their final color by the 4-5-week mark, while mature adult women and people that may heal slower will have to wait until week 6-7 to see the final color. We have no control over your body healing process, so please, be patient!

THE FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENT:
Your Permanent Cosmetic Procedure is really not considered finished until your follow up appointment!

This is where we perfect the area treated by assessing how the color healed and adding if necessary.

As all permanent makeup is not an exact science due to the differences in skin types and the way each one heals, a follow up appointment is scheduled NO sooner than 8 weeks.
Additional touch ups, if needed are $250.
